MenuSpark is a macOS productivity tool designed to enhance your Finder. We believe your files and
habits are your business, not ours. This policy explains why we don't need, and don't want, your
personal data.
2. We Don't Collect Your Data
🔒 MenuSpark is a "Local-First" app. Your data stays on your Mac. We do not have servers to
receive your files, and we do not use any tracking or analytics tools.
No personal info collection (no accounts, no emails).
No usage tracking (we don't know which features you use most).
No advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
3. Local Storage
The following information is stored only on your Mac to make the app work:
Your Settings: Your custom menu layouts and how you like the app to look.
Usage Counter: A simple count of how many times you've used Pro features
(like AI renaming) to manage free version limits.
Purchase Status: A secure digital receipt from Apple confirming if you
have purchased the Lifetime License.
Your Favorites: The paths to files or folders you've marked as "Quick
Folders" or "Pinned Files".
4. File Access
MenuSpark works within your Mac's secure environment to provide its features:
File Operations: Moving, copying, or renaming files happens only on the
items you select.
Archive Handling: Zipping and unzipping is done entirely on your Mac.
Image Info: Reading photo metadata (like camera settings) is done locally
to show you information. We never upload these details.
App Uninstaller: Scanning for leftover files when removing an app happens
only on your local disks.
All actions are started by you and processed entirely on your device.
5. AI Features
When you use AI-powered features (Smart Rename, Image Upscaler):
Built-in AI: Processing happens entirely on your Mac using its own
processor. No data is sent to the internet.
External AI (Optional): If you choose to use tools like LM Studio or
Ollama, the app only talks to the local address you provide. We never see this data.
Model Downloads: We connect to HuggingFace only when you explicitly ask to
download a new AI model.
6. In-App Purchases
MenuSpark offers a Lifetime License as a one-time purchase through Apple's StoreKit framework. All
purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect,
process, or store your payment information, Apple ID, or any financial data.

7. Network Communications
MenuSpark only connects to the internet for the following limited purposes:
Apple StoreKit — To verify your purchase status through
Apple's servers.
HuggingFace — To browse and download AI models when you explicitly choose
to do so.
User-configured AI providers — To communicate with local AI servers (LM
Studio / Ollama) that you have set up, at network addresses you specify.
MenuSpark does not make any other network connections. There are no
hidden telemetry, heartbeat, or data reporting mechanisms.
8. Third-Party Services
MenuSpark integrates with the following third-party services:
HuggingFace — For AI model browsing and downloads (user-initiated only).
Governed by HuggingFace's Privacy
Policy.
MenuSpark does not integrate any analytics,
advertising, crash reporting, or social media SDKs.
9. System Integration
MenuSpark uses Apple Events to interact with macOS system applications (such as Finder and
Terminal) to provide features like "Open in Terminal", file operations via Finder, and other
system-level integrations. These interactions occur locally on your Mac and do not involve any
network communication.
10. Children's Privacy
MenuSpark is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any
information from children. Since MenuSpark does not collect personal data from any user, no
special provisions for children's data are necessary.
